Volunteer training at my former high school: two 3-hour meetings for three final-year classes on what bioinformatics and data science are, how they are used, and which study paths lead there. The teaching toolkit for the students is online, with the source in a public GitHub repository.

I regularly attend seminars and academic events. In April 2025, I joined a University of Bologna lecture focused on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, strengthening my interest in data-driven approaches.

I attended a trade fair for healthcare technology: clinical software, telemedicine, home-care management and data platforms for hospitals and private providers. It was my first close look at the sector I now work in.

Cultural experiences

I visited the Leonardo supercomputer at the CINECA data center in Bologna, one of Europe’s leading HPC infrastructures, used for large-scale simulations, big data processing and AI research. The visit, organized by our Infrastructures and Big Data Processing professors, provided direct insight into real-world high-performance computing environments and large-scale research infrastructures.
